Chapter 3: February 1938

Well, now that it’s February, I think it should be warming up a little bit. Or at least, raining rather than snowing all the time. We’ve had some nice mild days recently, and Edie and I have spent lots of time outside writing letters and reading a bit. It’s not nearly warm enough to spend too much time out of doors, but just enough that we can sit on the porch or crack the window open just a bit.
Since it’s been so cold lately, Edie and I have been working on more clothes to keep us warm--we worked on a lovely dress I could wear when I find a job, since I’m still searching for one. And then dear Kenny bought me some stockings to keep my toes from freezing off--what a darling.
Jimmie gave Edie a ring a few weeks ago and she gave it back today. I’m not sure what happened exactly, I think they had a sort of disagreement, and she decided she wants nothing to do with him. I was just so bummed since he’s such a sweetheart and they seemed so happy together. But I guess he didn’t treat her like she deserved so it’s better this way.
