Chapter 6: March 1938

Tonight is March 12, and we went to see “Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs.” It came out last year and it’s by some man named Walt Disney, who I think is hoping to release lots more animated movies. This is the first movie like that I’ve ever seen, and it was breathtaking to watch! Those artists are so talented, and so dedicated to draw every frame like that. And the story was just lovely as well, so romantic. Well after the film, we went home and Kenny slept. He is so tired, and this is the first time I’ve seen him at all this week.
I went over to see Mrs. Smith recently, and she’s not doing so well. She’s pretty sick, and she just had four teeth out. She might even have to get some more removed. Poor sweet Mrs. Smith, it’s a good thing she has Ken and Vaughn to take care of her. They’re such good boys. They have an older sister Jean, but she’s off and married now. I do love that family.
It’s been a dull couple of days recently. I only saw Kenny very briefly yesterday, and then he went dancing without me. He stayed out till 10 and I was so lonely, but thankfully, he did come over afterward and stayed till 11:45. Then today we went out walking and played some hopscotch while we were out. I felt just like a little girl again, which I guess I am, as I’m only 17 years old. Also I had to take Mum to the doctor, since she’s been feeling poorly as well. Turns out she’s got neuritis pretty bad, and I think she’ll be in bed for awhile. Looks like I’ll have to take charge of the house while she’s out.
